Christmas Game 2015 pt2…planning

So planning has started…. Lee has been working on setting out the basic layout of the table with the sunken road being a promenant feature as can be seen on the right hand side of the first photo. This is where Rhodes and Andersons brigades of DH Hills division will be defending at the start of the battle facing French’s division of the Unions 2nd Corps. Both sides will be reinforced throughout the battle.

The game will be played on a 6ft x 8ft table.

Already on the table Lee has put the Dunker church (4Ground Rev Johnstons church from American Legends range) and surrounding woodland, and the 2 farmsteads. The roads and centre hill which represents a plateau are in place (the plan is not exactly to scale and a great deal of poetic license used but it should make for a great game).

We should be picking up some of the Orchard trees from 4Ground this week. This will fill out the orchard areas. Lee has ordered some fencing from ebay and so hope that arrives in time… fingers crossed 🙂

The figures will be majority of Perrys plastics range. Look out on the battlefield for several painted versions of the Salute mounted figure from 2011.

Lee is working on planning the units for each army for the game and he will post an order of battle once he has worked them out. Then comes the laborious task of programming the computer for the battle.
